中国科学院院士、教授，中国生物材料学会候任理事长、中国生物医学工程学会常务理事，国家自然科学基金委第八届全委会委员，国家“纳米科技”专项总体专家组成员，教育部科技委材料学部委员等。刘昌胜院士长期从事生物材料研究，发展了多种活性骨修复材料以及生长因子制备和材料活化新技术；在国内率先研制出自固化磷酸钙人工骨并获此类产品首张注册证，并实现临床广泛应用。申请发明专利69项，其中授权发明专利50项（美国授权专利4项）。发表SCI收录论文290余篇，出版中英文专著（教材）4本。先后获得国家自然科学奖二等奖、国家科技进步二等奖（均排第一），何梁何利基金创新奖，上海市青年杰出贡献奖等，以及国际生物材料学会联合会会士（Fellow）、美国医学与生物工程院会士（Fellow）等荣誉称号。

Prof. Changsheng LIU is Academician of Chinese academy of sciences, candidate chairman of China biomaterials society, standing director of China biomedical engineering society, committee members of the 8th NSFC, member of the national "nanotechnology" general expert group, member of the materials department of the science and technology committee of the ministry of education, etc. He has been engaged in research of biomaterials for a long time, and has developed a variety of active bone repair materials, as well as new technologies for the preparation of growth factors and material activation. The first to develop calcium phosphate self-curing artificial bone and obtain the first registration certificate, which has been widely used in clinic. He has applied for 69 invention patents and 50 were authorized, including 4 patents in the US, and published 290 SCI papers and 4 monographs. He has won the second prize of the National Award for both Natural Science and Science and Technology Progress (All ranked the first), Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Innovation Award, Shanghai Youth outstanding contribution award. and other honorary titles such as fellow of the International Federation of biomaterials societies and fellow of the American Academy of medicine and bioengineering.
